Apple Won’t Try To Disable Hacked iPhones

Apple released a statement yesterday alerting the public that their manufacturer’s warranty will not be covering hacked versions of the iPhone. Apple also hinted that there would be some significant updates coming out for the model.

To clarify their position, Apple VP Phil Schiller was quoted saying that the update, “has nothing to do with proactively disabling a phone that is unlocked or hacked.” The fact that Apple won’t try to disable the phone doesn’t mean that it isn’t possible that an update will ruin hacked and unlocked versions of the model.

I’m sure this site will be quite helpful to those needing help with their wireless phones.

Apple is pretty good off with what they have already. Updates will “restore” iPhone to locked condition, until new update is hacked…

Got something to say?
