How To Insert or Remove The Rizr Sim Card

July 5, 2007

Release battery RizrMany of you have been asking how to remove and insert to Rizr sim card, so here’s a quick lesson.

The first thing you have to do is push the battery cover release button that’s shown in the picture to the left. You will probably have to push it with your fingernail because you have to push it in quite a bit.Rizr Remove Battery Door

You will then lift up and remove the battery door, as shown in the second picture. Once the battery door is lifter, it should be easy to slide it off. After you have removed the battery cover, you should be able to see the slot where the sim goes, as will be shown to you in the next picture.

Insert Sim Rizr Z3 Make sure that you hold the sim as shown. The slot in the sim should be in the lower right hand corner. If you look at the image you’ll see that the corner of the sim is missing.

Yours will look just like that, and you need to have the sim facing the same direction. While handling the sim card, take extra precaution to not bend, break, or scratch it.

Once you make sure the card is facing the right way, slide it in as shown in the last picture. It should be pretty straightforward, let me know if you have any questions!

To remove the sim card, you should follow the same steps, except you should obviously slide the card out.

Yah, sounds simple enough to remove it by your directions, but how the fuck are you supposed to grab it in order to pull it out in the first place since it doesn’t stick out and the other memory card is in the way, but we can’t get that out because the sim card is stopping the thing you push down from going down far enough. We are trying to take both of the cards out and cannot get any of them without taking the phone apart in the process.

Was having a hell of a time removing it too.
Figured it out though- real simple. Use a pencil the eraser tip give you enough leverage and friction to remove it in a second!

I could not take it out, but moreover, I can’t believe the people who designed this thing, the people who wrote the user’s manual without any removal info, and most of all, the person who wrote the above “directions”. Sounds so simple: “you should follow the same steps, except you should obviously slide the card out.”

Are these middle school kids? This is a commercial product, don’t you have engineers working for this company.

i agree. this is the most rediculous thing -ever-. and no, a pencil eraser doesn’t help. this really annoys me because i wanted to stick a bigger memory card into my phone.

I did it without any problem using the pencil eraser. It sounds to me like you guys need to take a chill pill and calm down. Maybe if you would cool out it wouldn’t seem so difficult.

I’m finding that the card doesn’t go all the way in. I know that can’t be right, so I’m stuck at that point. Frustrating!!

Well, I got the SIM card in…just took a couple more attempts.

I later had to remove it to retrieve info off my old phone. It wasn’t hard to do using a sharp pair of tweezers to grab the edge of the card.

Hopefully won’t have to do it again though!

I weren’t able to get dat little card out with a pincil, maybe it’s cause the eraser is too big (my first pincil). I did however manage to get it out with a pair of plyers and a crowbur.

But now that it’s back in, anyone know why me dern phone won’t turn on?

    (Yes, I’m being sarcastic)

Great little way to have life come to an unnecessary screeching halt, this little crappy rizr sim card. What incompetent, dim designers.

First off fuck the idiot who designed a nigh impossible to remove SD Card slot. As if it’s that goddamn difficult to have a release button. Here’s how I managed to removed mine. First there should be a little rectangle of open plasic that doesn’t cover the SIM card. It’s located at the back end edge right above where it says microSD and has a little arrow pointing. It’s to the upper left if you are reading the microSD message right side up. You should see the white card (at least mine was white) and a tiny bit of space between the phone back and the card. The card has a corner cut off or curved off on the bottom left if you’re reading the T mobile logo right side up. The card is placed in the phone sideways so this missing corner (you can see through the open rectangle) provides some space between the phone and card. I used a small needle along that edge to wedge the card out and once it started to come out I grabbed the bastard with some tweezers. It was a pain in the ass and I’m just hoping my SIM card wasn’t damaged in the process.

Actually guys it’s very easy to come out without using any of those stuff that you mentioned but you have to remove the memory card and then u push down the sim and it slides right out. Pretty easy really and there’s also a video on youtube that shows you how to remove it. Click this link and see if it helps:
