How To Transfer Songs To The Motorola Krzr K1m For Verizon

June 18, 2007

If you’re here, you probably asked, “How do I transfer songs to the Krzr?” or “How do I put music on the Motorola Krazr?” If that’s what you’re looking for, you’ve come to the right place. This walkthrough is for the Verizon version. How To Put Music On The Motorola Krzr For Verizon

You’ll need a few things:

  1. Mini USB Cable - You can buy it at Radioshack or order it from Amazon here.
  2. Motorola Krzr Driver - For details on how to install this driver, you should read our lesson on connecting the Krzr to your pc. Don’t go on in this lesson until you have completed that one.
  3. Sync Music Fix - This is a little patch that fixes a bug in most computers that makes them not connect to the Krzr. You can learn how to run this patch in the lesson on connecting the Krzr to your pc.
  4. Windows Media Player 11 - If you don’t already have it, you can get it for free here.

Once you have connected your Krzr to your pc (which you should have done by now) you will need to go in to your phone menu. Here are the steps you will follow in the Menu:

  1. Menu
  2. Get It Now
  3. Music and Tones
  4. Sync Music

Once you hit enter on “Sync Music”, you’re computer should open Windows Media Player automatically. You may get a little window that looks like this:

Media Player Krzr

If you got the window, select “Sync digital media files……..” and click ok. Your computer will then open Windows Media Player and will connect it to your phone!

Song Transer Krzr

You will find your songs on the left, and will drag them to the right. If you look closely at the right side of Windows Media Player in the picture above, you will see an area the says, “Drag items here to create a list to sync.” That’s where you want to drag your songs to. One you have the songs that you want to transfer there, you are going to click, “Start Sync”. It will take some time to transfer all the songs over, and as soon as it’s done, you’re done!

Since this lesson is a tough one, I want to open up to questions. If you get lost anywhere, leave your questions in the comments. If I need to adjust the lesson to better explain something I will. I won’t know if you don’t ask!

I’ve also tried (almost) everything, and I can’t get it to work. I’ve installed the driver and followed the “How To Connect A Krzr to Your PC” with the additional patch at the end, but I get hung up in this method. When I try to tell my phone to sync music, it says that it can’t connect. Can anyone help?

It worked great for me. I followed the steps and used a generic mp3 player’s USB cable to sync the phone. Everything went perfect. I want to copy some pics & videos off of my phone onto my computer, though, and I’m stuck on that.

Ok, I was able to sync music to the phone. How can I make the music into a ringtone?

I was able to get this to work with my girlfriend’s KRZR with no problems. A couple months later I’ve bought my own, and can get the computer to recognize mine. The only difference between our phones is that mine doesn’t have a memory card. Does that make a difference?

I bought a 1g Mirco SD card, it was 16 Canadian and it came with adapters to put it into Digital Cameras and Other Phones. Once i had that in i plugged my phone into my computer, it found it. So i opened Windows Media Player and Sync’d music onto it. And for bluetooth, search for “BlueSearch” I use it, it works great to get pictures to my Phone for wallpapers and stuff.

I have connected my phone and done everything but my phone keeps saying connect failure! How can I fix this?!?! I need help!!

  14. PAul on July 10th, 2008 5:38 am

Okay. I got this to work on my work computer, which is running xp. I did the same exact things when I got home, running on vista (don’t think that matters), and it won’t work. The computer will recognize the phone enough to start charging it, but when I attempt to sync music, it says it can’t find the drivers. Any help with this??

These are just standard procedures for any MP3 or iPOD.

The issue I have is not being able to find my music when I go to the Music Library on my phone.

I can see the files in “mobile/audio” on my PC (when phone is connected to PC using USB).

My guess is maybe - file type, file size, locked phone or something of the like.

Got something to say?
