Motorola i860 For Nextel Review

June 30, 2007

The Motorola i860, which some call the Nextel i860 for obvious reasons, is a very powerful iDEN cell phone. The i860 has two fully functional color displays, which is rare for a Nextel model by Motorola.

Although the model only has a VGA resolution camera, the i860 is the first of its kind. The camera has video capture capability, which is a nice feature for Nextel, whose technology is this area has been a little behind GSM and CDMA.

One feature that is unique to the Motorola i860 is the button activated flip. The model has speakerphone, which of course goes without saying for a Nextel iDEN.

The model has a stub antenna that can extend for increased service reception. The phone ships with a high performance battery that gives a little under 3 hours talk time.

The i860 has a TFT screen on the inside. TFT stands for Thin Film Transistor, which means that very small transistors are fused to the glass. TFT makes for a very nice picture, in fact TFT is the leading way to make quality screens at this point in time.

The model stores about 600 phone numbers, which is ample for almost everyone. T9 predictive text makes for easy texting.

Motorola i860 For Nextel Overall
Overall, the Motorola i860 is a great model. We have waited for a camera phone for Nextel for a while, and here it is! The model has nice functionality, and offers a brilliant screen. We would highly recommend it!
