Motorola Q GSM - Cingular and T-Mobile Users Smile

Users of GSM cell service everywhere have been awaiting the arrival of the Q GSM for quite some time. Verizon Wireless is the only service provider that has been able to sell the model until this point. Since Verizon uses CDMA service, users of T-Mobile and Cingular couldn’t buy unlocked versions of the model.

Those days are now coming to and end with the official announcement of the Q GSM. You can see to the left that the GSM version looks just like the original Q, except is as a darker finish.

The model is highly anticipated, so it should sell well. The biggest selling point of the model is its crazy thin design. The GSM version of the MOTO Q will be an astounding 11.5″ thin.

The GSM Q has a 2.4″ screen that uses TFT technology. A full qwerty keyboard will make text and email easier and faster for its users.

The new Q will have stereo Bluetooth, making it possible for users to stream audio to their p.c. and car speakers if they like. Of course all the standard applications of Bluetooth will also be supported, including: headsets, speakers, and p.c. connection.

The model will have a 1.3 mega-pixel camera, capable of taking still shots or video clips. The phone won’t ship with a ton of extra memory, but will come equipped with a card-slot that will support expansion up to 1 GB.

At this time, it appears that the model won’t come equipped with WLAN technology, which means that users won’t be able to connect to their home and office networks. There is, however, an expansion WiFi card that can give users the capabiliy. The card will be sold seperately.

Overall, the Motorola Q GSM looks like a great model.
