How To Take Care Of The Samsung SCH-a990’s Battery

The Samsung SCH-a990 uses a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery. This type of battery usually ages very well and is known to be one of the best available. Like any other type of rechargeable battery, it won’t last forever and may need to eventually be replaced.

There are some standard precautions that can help you to maximize the life of your battery:

  • Try to keep your battery cool. Heat can really damage the overall life of lithium-ion batteries. Some examples of situations that could damage your battery are: leaving your phone in your car or out in the sun while at the park.
  • Only use a Samsung branded and approved charger. After market chargers may have slight variations in their voltage and charge rates, which can cause irreversible damage.
  • Avoid using vehicle chargers to charge the battery of your Samsung SCH-a990. They often charge the battery too quickly and are often after-market anyway.
  • Never plug your phone into a charger that wasn’t made exactly for it. This will often destroy the battery within seconds.
