Motorola Q User Reviews
July 5, 2007
Here’s what the users have been writing in their reviews about the Moto Q. As always, we will combine what the users are saying so that you don’t have to read a million reviews.
The average user gives the Q about a 7 out of 10. What’s interesting about that is that fact that most tech reviewers give the model between an 8 and a 9 out of 10.
The Good
Sleek Design - The Q was most definitely revolutionary in its design. Some newer models are actually smaller than the Q, but at the time of release, it was a first of its kind. The size is significantly smaller than its competitors.
Removable Memory
Most users talk about the removable memory of the Q. What’s funny about this is that it’s become an industry standard for PDA models.
EV-DO
Ev-Do makes the phone operate on the internet much more quickly than models that don’t have it. If you read the user reviews, you can see that this was a huge selling point for them, and a reason to be satisfied with the model.
Bluetooth Capabilities
The Q is capable of operating as a wireless modem through Bluetooth, and also has all of the regular applications of Bluetooth technology.
Keyboard’s Ease Of Use
Quite a few users said that the keyboard on the Q is easier to use than the keyboards on the Treo and Blackberry.
Battery Life
Most users were quite pleased with the battery life of the Q, saying that the life would last 3 days or so with regular use.
The Bad (Problems With The Moto Q)
Difficulty With Email
This was the most common theme amongst the complaints about the Q. Users reported that it was really tough to get the model to work with pop email. One user said that she spent 8 hours on the phone with Verizon and Motorola, and it still didn’t work properly.
No Touch Screen
Many users of the Q used Treos previously, and most of them complained that it was pretty hard to surf without it. The Q uses a scroll wheel, and users complained that this made browsing a lot more difficult.
Buggy Operating System
Users complained a lot about this, but the truth is that this had nothing to do with the Q, and everything to do with Windows that is was running. In the later versions, the operating systems have been a lot more functional, and a lot less buggy.
Motorola Krzr K1m User Reviews
July 5, 2007
Here’s what users have been saying about the Krzr K1m. If you have read our compilation pages before you know that we take reviews from a bunch of different users, and combine them into one page. We do this so you don’t have to read a million pages of reviews.
The Good
Design. Users love the design. We were a little surprised at how many users compared the Krzr to the Razr. A lot of people must have made the switch. The design was a huge positive for most people; users say that the design and feel seems to be a lot more expensive. One user said that it feels 100x more durable than the Razr.
Call Quality - Users said that the call quality of the K1m is excellent. A few complained but 99% of the reviews we found stated that the users were quite happy with the reception of the model.
mP3 Player - Tons of users commented about the mP3 player, and the ability to transfer songs from your pc to your phone. Verizon had crippled this feature in many of the models, and with the K1m it’s possible to do it.
External Pic View - Many users really liked that you can place a pic on the external screen of the model.
Battery Life - Users say that the battery life of the K1m is really good. Verizon says that the talk time of the model is about four hours, and based on what the users are saying, this is probably pretty accurate.
The Problems Users Claim To Have With The Krzr K1m
User Interface - Quite a few users complained that the K1m has the same user interface as the Razr series phones. They complain that the phone is slower than some other models.
Customization Options - There aren’t many things you can customize with the model. A few users complained about not being able to use their own videos for screen savers and their own pictures for wallpapers.
Camera Quality - Users said that the model takes the same quality of pictures as models with .3 mega-pixel cameras. Of course, a lot of this is going to be because of the lens size, which has to be considerably smaller in a mobile device.
Overall, most users really liked the K1m. They complained about a few things, but there obviously aren’t really any better options at this time.
