Hilarious Snooze Alarm Clock Phone

October 5, 2007

Snooze Cell PhoneCell phones are just hilarious lately. First there was the Bluetooth necklace phone and now there’s the Snooze alarm clock phone. The idea behind the phone isn’t that it has an alarm clock. We’re not dumb enough to think that this is revolutionary.

The idea here is that it can be very difficult to figure out what time it is if you use your mobile phone as an alarm clock. I personally hate trying to find my phone, flip it open, and read the tiny numbers while I’m 87% asleep. This model has a large display on the bottom - which would be a lot easier to read.

This model is a simple concept phone, which means that it will probably never be sold. Who knows, maybe someone will pick up the idea and run with it.

Research In Motion Announces Blackberry Pearl For CDMA

October 1, 2007

Blackberry PearlRIM has finally made the CDMA version of the Blackberry Pearl 8130 official. Both Verizon and Sprint have leaked that they will eventually have the Pearl, and now there is no doubt that they’re both right. Now that the CDMA Pearl is official, both Verizon and Sprint will likely have the model within the next month.

The CDMA Pearl will come with built-in GPS and some other features including A2DP/AVRCP Bluetooth, a 3.5 mm audio jack, and a 2 mega-pixel camera.

RIM has stated that the new Pearl will have an overhauled interface and an expanded feature set over the GSM.

Verizon is notorious for shutting off functions that conflict with their methods for making money. Since a built-in GPS would cost Verizon some subscriptions to their VZnavigator service, you can expect it to be disabled.
