Here’ s the driver for the Krzr K1m: Krzr driver. For detailed instructions on installing the driver, visit this lesson: How To Connect A Krzr to Your PC.

In order to get your Krzr to connect properly, you will likely also need to install this fix, for Windows XP: Sync Music Fix. The same lesson walks you through the process of installing the fix.

Transfer Songs To U.S. Cellular Krzr K1m

July 5, 2007

Motorola Krazr

This method works with the following versions:

  • Sprint Krzr K1m
  • Verizon Krzr K1m
  • T-Mobile Krzr K1
  • Cingular Krzr K1
  • US Cellular Krzr K1m

I have had quite a few people comment about transferring songs to the Krzr K1m with U.S. Cellular. If that’s what you’re looking for you’ve come to the right place. If you’re looking for something else, check out the Krzr K1m help sheet.

The first thing that you’re going to want to do is get a memory card reader. US Cellular doesn’t have a driver out that will work with the Krzr K1m, so you’ll have to transfer your music the old-fashioned way. You are going to format the card with your pc, and then put songs on it using the card reader.

Your memory card should have come with a little adapter that will make it so that it can fit in any SD card reader. Once you have the card reader hooked up to your computer, put the card in the reader. From there you will need to open up windows explorer, which can be found by right clicking your mouse on your start button, and selecting explore.

From there, you need to find your card on the list of drives that comes up. The card will usually be called ‘mobile device’. You can right click your mouse on ‘mobile device’, and then select ‘format’. Make sure you don’t have any files on the card that you need, this will erase everything. Once the format box comes up, you will select FAT in the file system drop down and then click start. It will format the drive.

Now you need to put the card in your phone long enough for the phone to recognize it. The phone will find it, and make the directories that it needs. You till then take the card back out. Put it in the card reader again. We’re ready to put music on it!

You will find the card again using Windows Explorer just like we did before. This time you will double click on ‘mobile device’ or whatever it calls your card. It will open up and you will be able to see the folders that are there. You should be able to see folders for sound, photos, and movies. You will probably need to make one for music. So right click your mouse, choose new folder, and name it: my_music . Now all you have to do is copy the mP3s that you want on your phone, and paste them in that folder. All done!
