Verizon Wireless To Allow Users To Change Plan With No Contract Extension?

October 3, 2007

Verizon LogoReportedly, Verizon Wireless is going to start allowing customers to change their service plans without renewing their contracts. The honest truth is that this just doesn’t feel right.

Verizon has made their bucks by being sticklers for contracts - they are notorious for having poor customer service. This move seems doubtful to us, but it is being reported that Verizon will put the new change into effect as early as 10/7/2007.

Can it be true?

The Old Verizon Method

If you called in to change your plan, Verizon would happily let you know that you could change your plan if you wanted to renew your contract for another year or two. By the way, this would also push back the date you would be eligible for an upgrade. Yeah, it’s pretty messed up but they’ve been doing it for at least ten years, which is when I had my first Verizon phone. Lame!

Wow. If true, how will they keep everyone from changing their plans willy-nilly if Verizon offers a new deal? It sounds a little off, does’t it?

Imagine all the paperwork that Verizon will generate if they change their policy…And all the time that they will have to spend on it!

Got something to say?
